Safety at Wynna
Wynna is for children, so safety is the first thing we build, not the last. Here is exactly how we keep your child’s time on Wynna safe — and what we do, and don’t do, with their information.
Everything your child sees is checked
Wynna uses AI to create practice and give feedback. Before any AI response reaches your child, it passes through an automated safety check. The same check runs on the homework notes and photos you upload, so nothing inappropriate can be turned into practice. If a check is ever uncertain, we hold the content back rather than risk showing it — safety fails closed, never open.
- What your child writes to the tutor is screened before it’s processed.
- What the tutor replies is screened before your child sees it; anything flagged is replaced with a calm, safe message.
- The notes and photos you upload are screened before they’re used to build a lesson.
- The practice we generate is screened again as a final backstop.
The AI does not learn from your child
We use OpenAI to power the tutoring. Your child’s answers, writing and your uploads are sent to OpenAI only to generate that moment’s practice and feedback. Our account is configured so this content is not used to train OpenAI’s models. We do not sell your or your child’s data, and we never use it for advertising.
No login, no spotlight on your child
Your child has no account and no login of their own — they use a profile under your account. You choose their display name, and a nickname is perfectly fine (we encourage one). We don’t collect their email, phone number or location, and there are no public profiles, no chat with strangers, and no ads.
You are always in control
You set Wynna up and you can see and manage everything from your family page: review progress, edit a profile, or delete a child’s data or your whole account at any time. Deleting a profile permanently erases that child’s progress and writing.
Built for children by design
Wynna follows the UK Children’s Code: high-privacy defaults, we collect the minimum we need, location is always off, and we don’t use nudge techniques to keep children online or to extract information.
